I must say the hardest song for me to learn (note for note) on guitar was either The Flight of the Bumblebee by Korsakoff, Far Beyond the Sun by Yngwie Malmsteen, Under a Glass Moon by Dream Theater, or Scarified by Paul Gilbert.

It sounds like you've just started playing guitar recently so those you're working on are some pretty good songs to start with. May I suggest, just for your listening pleasure if you're insterested, to listen to Paul Gilbert, Dream Theater, Yngwie Malmsteen, Buckethead, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and Django Reinhardt? It's a little bit different from the normal rock and roll people are used to, but most musicians who really get into guitar tend to get into them.

You've probably heard this like a million times already, but make sure you practice scales! Especially with a metronome, because I can't tell you how many times I've heard guitarists play decently on their own, but they can't play along with drums or a straight beat.

But nonetheless, good luck and maybe we can jam someday :P

In the rock world the hardest things to play are ussually songs by bands like Rush or Yes. The only other things quite hard to learn are in the Classical and Jazz genres. The songs you are working are quite basic, but that does not mean they aren't good songs. Some of the best songs in rock are simple.

Yeah pretty much any song I try and play...I am such a slow learner. So far I have learned Blvd. of Broken Dreams (accoustic)-Green Day, Helena-My Chemical Romance, Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun-Pink Floyd, and right now I am working on Thank you for the Venom and Romance by My Chemical Romance...Thank you for the Venom has definetly been the hardest...it's got some insanely fast riffs in it.

I've been working on Speed Metal Symphony by Cacophony for about 7 months. I figure I have another year before I work it all out. I've been playing for about a decade but just recently in the last year got into Neo-Classical shred.
