The Americas were named for Americo (Americus) Vespucci.

Henry VIII's children were Mary (by Catherine of Aragon), Elizabeth (by Anne Boleyn), and Edward (by Jane Seymour). His other three marriages (Anne of Cleves, Katherine Howard, and Katherine Parr) were all childless, and each of his children ruled (Edward, then Mary, then Elizabeth).

Henry VIII (the 8th) had three living children when he passed away. In order of birth, they were Mary Tudor (daughter of Catherine of Aragon), Elizabeth Tudor (daughter of Anne Boleyn), and Edward Tudor (son of Jane Seymour).

The Americas were named by a mapmaker friend of Amerigo Vespucci. North and South came along because they were north and south.

Amerigo Vespucci (not sure if I spelled that correctly, sorry) gave his name to the Americas.

If you mean Henry the eighth, he had three legitimate children, all of whom ruled England: Mary Tudor (Mary I) with Katherine of Aragon (first wife), Elizabeth Tudor (Elizabeth I) with Anne Boleyn (second wife), and Edward Tudor (Edward VI) with Jane Seymour (third wife). (His fourth, fifth, and sixth wives were Katherine Howard, Anne of Cleves, and Katherine Parr, but he didn't have any children with them) He also had an illegitimate son between Mary and Elizabeth who died before he reached adulthood (and probably a lot of other illegitmate children, honestly...he got around)

If you mean Henry the seventh, I forget how many kids he had, but his oldest son (who died young) was Arthur. His second son was Henry.

since they were gonna name both continents america they needed to tell them apart from each other. and the only way to do that is to say what direction there in. Hence the names North and South America.
