I know it's possible to obtain itemized lists of incoming and outgoing calls from your phone company. Is it possible for a regular citizen to obtain the actual voice recordings of the conversation of a particular phone call from a landline to a cell phone? Or does that go against privacy laws? Would phone companies not give that out.

I'm doing research for a privacy research assignment. I call the phone companies but they have no idea what I'm talking about!! LoL. The lady at ameritech was like "huh?" LoL

Thanks bunches

George ... You seem to think that the phone companies have the desire and the resources to record all the phone conversations that go over their lines. You DID say "... the actual voice recordings of the conversation..."

I'm 99.999999% certain they don't do such a thing unless there's a court order to tap that user's activities.

So, to answer your question, no ... the phone companies would not give that out because they don't even have the recordings you seek.

Can you cite a reputable and verifiable source to confirm that the phone companies record all their conversations? I'd like to know more about this. Thanks.

while it is said that no person can obtain those calls.. they do exist.

Non-published numbers also exist. .just because they're non published ( in directories) doesnt mean they dont exist...i can get anyones' unpublished number..
