My eyes and my husband's eye color are both brown, but my three month old son's eye color is grey/blue. At what age on average does the brown come in permanately? Or might it stay the same? By the way, my mother's eyes are green , but the rest of the grandparents' eyes are dark brown. Can anyone name the source of thier info, so I know I have an accurate picture?

Usually they tell you that the baby's eyes will settle into one particular color by the time he's two. Sometimes it will be earlier than that, sometimes later. But usually by age two they have the color they will have for the rest of their lives. I know how you feel, my daughter will be a year old on Saturday and her eyes still haven't settled into any one particular color. Her eyes are a steal-blue some days and greenish silver other days. But it's the little things that make life interesting.

My daughter is a year old, her eyes have been changing a lot. Her doctor said that she may be two years old before they develop a permanent color.

Other people are convinced that eye color may not become permanent until about age 5.

My eyes are blue and my husbands are brown. Our daughter was born with blue eyes and had blue eyes well after she made one. Here we are, she is 17 months old and her eyes are hazel. you never can tell. I was told whatever eye color she had on her birthday was the color she'd have for good. (books, magazines, doctors) It's not an exact science, you just have to wait and see (quite literally)

Most times, a baby's eyes will change by their first birthday, but I've had three children and so far, each and every child is different. Some eyes don't change colors..mainly, have a blast w/ your son..happy rearing!!

My brother in law is an optometrist. He told us that our daughter's true eye color can come in anywhere from 3 months to 9 months. She is four months old, and he says that her eyes are their true color--bright blue, unlike her parents. If they are still grey looking, they probably don't have their true pigmentation yet.
