Do they deal with putting animals down and when going to school for this do they have to take hard math? I don't want to be a Technician by the way which is different.

you have to assist the vet with shots, putting in an IV, and yes you might need to put them down. it comes with the territory. if you intern you can get a position like that. the math is like how to give them their meds like how many cc's and stuff like that.

A vet assistant is pretty low on the totem pole and make around 25-35 a year, if you can live off that and dont mind being at the bottem go for it, i would recommending doing vet tech, they carry some actual knowledge and not just basic hands on skills like a vet assitant
