The first recorded evidence of homosexuality was in Mesopotamia circa 3000 BC(E) and over 150 Native American tribes considered homosexuals (berdaches) shamans or healers.
Some have hypothesized that a gay genetic makeup is preferred so one offspring will not have the burden of their own children and thus being able to take care of the parents as they age; another thought is that a gay genetic makeup is preferred since a gay male may tend stay with the females of the group with no worry of a sexual pairing while other males hunted, with the gay male being physically able to offer protection if attacked.
A recent scientific study has shown that women tend to have more children when they inherit the same genetic factors linked to homosexuality in men and that this fertility boost more than compensates for the lack of offspring fathered by gay men and keeps the “gay” genetic factors in circulation.

I question, not judge people's actions in regards to homosexuality...just like I question men who hide behind homophobia and yet practice homosexuality. Why is it that as Americans, in general--not all of us, but some, live behind this wall of hypocrisy? Why worry about who is sleeping with whom, when we have current socioeconimic and demographic issues facing our country and world? Hmmmmm....I like how you theorized the whole 'natural selection', process and the way it looks the whole genetics altering in regards to sexuality, people are trying to eliminate many things (diseases, I can understand, but sexuality, I do not understand---what next the alteration of an embryo's skin color! This world is really crazy in which we live---but we must push forward with our views and our stance on issues that affect US as a minority within the majority (which when you think about it--are we really a minority with all the people who deny any type of labeling or involvement with the gay community)! As you said since the beginning of time, same sex relations have been existence---its not a matter of choice, its a given!

First off Jeremy is probably a kid up way passed his bed time. You're right, homosexuality does exist for a reason. But I'm sure as always you'll be getting quotes from the Bible that was written by man instead of the true Christians just trusting God & accepting that he made everyone the way they are.

OMG!!!! What they hell is wrong with people! First me being a lesbian doesn't stop me from passing my genes on. Ever heard of a sperm bank? Next it's not a birth defect. HOW DARE anyone say I'm doomed to damnation. All you good bible thumpers need to practice what you preach. How many sins will you have tallied against you in heaven? The bible says not to eat pork. How many of you had bacon, ham, or sausage today? It also states to not eat any vegetable that grows beneath the earth. Have you eaten a carrot, potato, or onion lately? How many of you work on Sundays? Pick and choose from whatever you want in the bible but only one can judge me truly and it's not ANYONE here on earth.

It is not a birth defect. Its just God's way of knocking us on rears and saying Pay attention I am trying to teach ya how to love unconditionally and without limits. The highest form of love that God practices.
LOL and thats why he is wearing the puritan outfit...The Witch trials never went away just changed forms. Witches and gays have changed positions!

And what reason might that be?????????
I have a appendix ,why? no reason
I'm not a bible thumping freak
Can I ask this simple question- why do Gays have "rainbow parades" prancing around almost naked saying "gay pride". I mean come on...... you don’t see me or anyone else going around to "straight pride" parades.
You say it's straight people who can't get over homosexuals; your gay, I don’t agree with it but I'm over it. It seems to me that it is the gays that cant get over it.
Keep it to yourself. Ahhhhhhhhh

People can't understand concepts like that because they would rather invent convenient "truths" to make themselves feel better. It's a defensive mechanism.

Homosexuality does not exist for a reason...Obviously...
===================================
Various societies throughout history have had different
levels of acceptance of homosexuals...
Varying from complete acceptance to outright rejection..
It has only been in the past 10 yrs. that we have actually
scientifically known that Homosexuality, for the most part
is an anomaly / birth defect....No more a personal choice
than Heterosexuality...Except in the case of "Bi" women
which is a cultural phenomenon.
Of course anti-gays do not want to accept that it is a birth
defect because they want it to be a matter of personal choice
so they can condemn them as perverts and Gays do not want
to admit it is a birth defect because the don't want to be thought of as "defective"...So very few accept it, for biased personal reasons, and the animosity continues within our society.
Sheeeeesh, get over it, A tempest in a teapot is what it is...

i can agree with you on that. this thing called "history" has been covering up the truth for so long. even in the bible! and not only with homosexuality. but with race (i.e.: the myth (or fact) that Black people were not the first human race on earth), religion.......it's just sad. i'm glad to know that not EVERYONE believes whats said in those "textbooks." if people only expanded their minds........
......sigh.....
