How do you explain the popularity of Sanjaya Mlakar on American Idol? He doesn't seem to be a good singer but he get a lot of attention...

Sanjaya--horrible singer
why he's still on--10 year olds are allowed to have cell-phones..they all think he's cute and they dont understand that american idol is about SINGING
everyone in my town calls him Mowgly or SanVagina

I think people are voting for him to make a mockery of the show!
Sanjaya Malakar, 17, is from Federal Way, WA. He auditioned in Seattle with his sister, who was eliminated at the Hollywood stage of the competition. Sanjaya says he started singing as a little boy and had formal singing training.
Sanjaya, who spent four years performing with the Hawaii Children Theater, claims he is a shy person and says "I'm scared that I'll never be able to walk into a supermarket without someone recognizing me." His music idol is Stevie Wonder.

either way sanjaya is going to win. look at all the attention he is getting from being there. unfortunately someone will give him a record deal for fast cash.

At the start, I hate the dude. Now.... I´m starting to take his "bus" because he´s so... how can i put it? irrelevant and the non american figure, so he as an American idol can be an aberration, or a sign of what the US really are.

I heard there was a conspiracy going on to keep the worst person on as long as possible. Other than that I can only guess that people voting for him are deaf and blind!

he's the only one that is young for the little girls to google over. the hair and the smile,but he can't sing.
