I hav a brother and a sister who are 8 and 10, my mom and dad dont get home till late today so i wanted to know if it wuld be legal to go outside and play with all the other kids in the neighborhood, we live in a really safe environment with a security guard at the gate. my mom is just afraid that if somethng happens that requires direct medical attention or needs to be treated by an adult and they arent there, they can go to jail, plz confirm this if it is true, she wuld luv for us to go outside especially with the weather warming up but they arent home most of the time, plz tell me if its legal or illegal and y, if it is possible, plz giv me a source, thanx, by the way, i live in VA, if u need that info, thanx again!!!

Outside has nothing to do with it... it's not like it's legal inside but illegal outside... if the 13 year old (you?) is capable of making sound decisions, it's legal and moral. If your mom is worried about it, she should look into hiring someone older to be with all of the kids, or maybe an adult in the neighborhood would be willing to hang out outside for a few hours until your parents are around.

its fine cause its just babysitting. If there is need for direct medical attention, first get to a nearby adult, and if its really bad, then call 911. People get teenage babysitteers all the time. If it will make u or ur parents any more comfortable, u can take a babysitting course so u know exactly how to handle a situation, like if someone needs cpr or the heimlich maneuver.

I think it would be ok as long as you keep an eye on them.
Just tell them to try and be careful while playing.
No your parents will not go to jail because you are old enough to watch them w/o adult supervision
