I need names for:
a society protecting magicians who are being persecuted.
a society of rebel magicians who are killing innocents and creating chaos
a society who are supposed to be stopping the rebels but are infact attempting to wipe all magicians off the face of the earth.
I need them to sound credible, and the 2nd and 3rd ones need to sound formiddable. please help!
and thanks again to those who helped my name my characters!

tjs282, are you implying I'm plagurising JK Rowling? because if you are I'm really insulted. you don't know what my book is about, considering all you have to go on is 3 minor details. so screw you.

1. The White Testudo (a testudo is a movable protective covering that provided protection from above; used by Roman troops when approaching the walls of a besieged fortification ; white because white magic is for good purposes only)
2. Nefaris. If you don't use this purlease use the word 'nefarious' in the book to describe them I love that word!!! It means "infamous by way of being extremely wicked."
3. The Indemnity (indemnity has a dictionary definition of protection against future loss)

As Eastern European languages seem to be "in" why not try:
a) Adapost (shelter - Romanian)
b) Deatheaters (just kidding), okay: Czerno (the dark -- Polish), Czernovrazi (dark killers -- Polish-Czech combination), Corvus (Latin for the crow family -- ravens, carrion crows...)
c) Zatsepka (a word of many meanings: hook, peg; influence, connections; hitch, catch, snag -- Russian), or if you want the genative pulral (five and over) - zatsepok. Sounds a little like zit septic, doesn't it?
Much luck
