What kind of example of anything that works have we shown them? Billy Boy Clinton and all of his henchmen? Favor brokers? Abramoff?

I think you answered a lot of your question or give good examples. I think we have some good politicians but they are way too few to outweigh the opposites.
I can't see anything that would motivate our youth.That is sad and will be worse I'm afraid before it gets better.

Motivation? There just isn't enough. How about the prospect of living under a government you don't understand, or having to obey laws that shouldn't even apply to you? I was surprised at the last election, even with the push to get young people to vote, the same numbers turned out. You'd think at least SOME young people would want their voices heard, or would be interested in knowing what's going to happen when they grow up and suddenly are forced to (*gasp!*) know how things work so they explain them to their kids. Oh, wait, maybe they don't, and that's the problem!

People have been saying that since the advent of politics. Do you think we had a good political outlook when the hippies were around. Young kids grow up. They have families. They start to realize what really matters.

they are living too comfortablly (like some adult americans) to show concern for politics. if they feel its doesnt directly affect them, then they will not care. think of all the pep rallys in high schools and colleges, why? because an internal situation has effected them at their school. with National and International Politics they dont feel affected so they do nothing.

I think its wonderful that they are involved - much better than the "President who?" attitude. Its their country, too. I applaud it. The right to be involved is motivation enough.
