Depends on the occasion..French without doubt for a formal dinner in romantic setting such as Paris...Indian when I have had at least one or two beers...Italian food, but it must be eaten in Italy as the food in the actual country bears no relationship to the Italian food you eat in restaurants in UK. not sure about US only ate Italian food there once and it was much like UK except portions could have fed a family of four.

It changes. I used to like Mexican, until the spinach and tomatoes went bad. Then I preferred Italian and still do above most cuisines, but my wife has grown to hate it simply because we keep going there. Now, I'm into Indian-Chinese fusion and my wife finds the decor interesting, so we've been going there lately more often.

Having eaten in several restaurants since returning to England, nearly two years ago. I wouldn't give a hoot if I never eat out again. The food was bland and tasteless. Add 'salt to the food for crying out. It is much better and healthier than having to add it later. Indian/Oriental at least has some flavour.

I like eating with people and like any food well cooked. In the Philippines a popular dish is boiled egg with chick - inside! takes a lots of will power to eat it but you gain a lot of respect for eating it. So what I really like is eating strange food in local poor man's cafes and interating with these ordinary people. This answer is probably a world away from what you were looking for but I had to answer in my own way.
I have to admit I do not like this question and do not like the decadant rich countries life styles this question seems to be admiring, but that is another question brewing - but maybe I am completely wrong here.

My favorite of all time is Lebanese food from Albasha's. I like to get the Lamb Shishkobob. I also like the pita bread with hummus. And the feta salad. I like all of it. Try it once and you will know why, because it is soooo good.
