some actually do. dimebag was notorious for getting in the face of security that pushed kids away that waited in line. on the otherhand, theres some that could care less ie. motley crue having a sort of "rock star" pass. in simple terms you can get they're autograph for 3-400 bucks. i understand getting paid but paying 20 bucks for a cd i probably already own to get signed by a band is too much.

I've met a good amount of bands ranging from widely popular to regular underground acts. For the most part it seems that the trend is the ones that get super famous put off an attitude that they could be doing more important things. All the bands that are working their way up always love the hell out of their fans because they understand how big a part the fans play in getting where they want to go.
But there's also a good amount of popular bands that still keep that vibe. Red Hot Chilli Peppers are really cool, Aerosmith was great, Foo Fighters are awesome, and then there's like Axl Rose who would probably forget your name a second after you gave it to him.
Overall most bands I guess really hold true to being generous to the fans, but the ones who can't handle the persona and turn into egomaniacs kinda forget about the important pieces.

for the most part they do and are courteous. But keep in mind theres a time and place. Just basic common sense. Don't bug them while they are busy or eating. They are just like you, they don't like being interrupted from something they are doing. Don't forget their time is sacred. they are being pulled around from all sides by record companies, booking agents, managers, radio, TV, internet interviewers. Having no sleep, living constantly with 10-20 other people. That can be pretty stressful. Its not a big party like everyone thinks. So really just use common sense. Some of thes answers talk about individual meetings. I don't think you can't judge a person in one meeting. That person may be having a really bad day from something totally out of his control. Or he may be having a great day but the next time not so good. They are not superhumans, they are people just like us with feelings and emotions.

It depends on the individuals involved. I have met plenty of musicians who seem to enjoy fan interaction, but I have also been around some who are real jerks.

I went to a Danzig concert once and Glenn seemed pretty cool. I guess it depends on who the musician is.

It really depends on the person not success level. some love it depending on how much they value the support of their fans.

i got to ALOT of rock shows! and rock stars seem to treasure their fans! unlike rap artists who are too cocky or big headed to have any communication with their fans. rock stars love their fans! =)

Some probably hate it and some may not mind it. Probably depends on their day as well.
