Buy her something which would mean soemthing to her. Perhaps you shared a memorable experience together and you have something to give her from that day, or pictures, or make her like a photo album full of pictures and perhaps objects from certain events. This would cost nothing, so you can buy her a gift also. Women like jewellery, vouchers to go shopping, spas, and basically anything.

Get her some Molton Brown stuff. Lovely products - but too expensive to be buying yourself as everyday items. Just bought some for my friend's 50th, along with some flowers.

there is no longer something significant a pair of thirty second birthday (i'm 33 myself), merely meal and a few beverages, perhaps a club or 2 is high-quality. forget video clips, sitting in front of a action picture isn't any thank you to rejoice a birthday.

I agree with the spa answer - you can usually get a facial or a massage for under £50 - pampering always goes down well.

Does she have a favorite store you know she likes to shop at? Get her a gift certificate!

Has she talked about anything new lately? Books, movies, magazines? You could get her a pair of tickets to the theater (so she can bring a date) or a subscription to her favorite magazine.

Does she love to cook? Something from a kitchen store might be ideal!

go to www.gifts.com you can search by personality and age. They give you suggestions and what most people buy.... i use it all the time and then buy the items locally....or what ever is cheaper. Also, you can choose to only see items in a certain price range.

I would buy her a nice watch, or get her a gift certificate for a facial or massage. Get her something she wouldn't buy for herself, buts wants or would appreciate.Good Luck
