He was all male chauvenisitic, and bigotted throughout the movie, and then, in the end, he kissed his neighbor (kevin Spacey).

I am offended at any homosexuality in a movie.

At least movies like that gay cowboy movie let it be known they were homo movies.

I thought American Beauty was pretty good until those two guys started suckin face.

Plus, it gives a bad image to our armed forces.

it extremely is the point the armed forces guy is the classic closeted gay guy who overcompensates by most popular the detest squad, fearing his own sexuality. Lester is only a guy who's conscious he's not gay, so he's not freaked out at the same time as he receives hit on. So he only takes it as a praise and turns down the pass. in case you keep in mind, he's extreme on the time and somewhat mellow.

Not at all. I thought it was a great movie. I felt bad for the Marine guy that he felt he had to portray this outward chauvanistic, macho demeanor just to try to hide who he really was, and in the end made himself and everyone around him miserable.

It didn't creep me out in the least. I am way too secure in my sexuality to be creeped out by a kiss. Besides, I suspected that his character was gay all along. Those who are the most outwardly bigoted and homophobic are usually that way to hide their own sexual orientation. Its called "self-hating."

Darn good movie by the way.

It didn't creep me out, in fact I feel like ppl that want to do what they want to do is the way it oughta be. It's nobody's business what two consenting adults do, it sure as hell isn't for me to judge, and it sure isn't the government job to legislate morality. As if a politician has morals anyway!

This next statement does not apply to you.

Hey nazi flaggers that hate-stop you're hating and judging. Let people be people and STOP YOUR HATING

I think it's very stereotypical that he was a clean-cut anti-gay military man that was a "closeted" homo who can't deal with it but other than that I didn't care. I just watched the movie to check out Thora Birch.

I just thought it was sad that he lived his life as such a repressed lie. Hiding who he was made his whole family miserable.

It was a surprise and kind of scary that a macho guy like that was gay.
