First of all, gas is REALLY not that expensive here. In many parts of Europe, it is over $5 a gallon (yet another reason I am glad to not live in Europe!)

Is gas expensive because Dick Cheney is getting kickbacks to keep the prices up?
Because execs in Exxon Mobil are lining their pockets with money?
Because the war in Iraq is affecting supply and therefore the price?

OR....

Because environmentalist wackoes in America won't let us drill for more oil in our own country?
(Guess which one I feel is the truth...)

Yes, you are correct.

We could tap into the huge resources in the Gulf Of Mexico. There are some that say they suspect that there maybe enough oil there to completely fuel this country for 150 years!

But, people scream about the impact on the environment. Why? Do you honestly think that in this day and age with all of the oversite that they are going to ruin the ocean? How long has the Alaskan Pipe Line been up? Other than that drunk working as a Captain for Exxon, Alaska is still pristine.
