My son had to be put on medicine when he was 2 months old for that also. He never got cranky but he hated the taste of the medicine. Is the medicine working for the acid reflux. It might not be, maybe its bothering him. It could be the acid coming up and burning him. If he spits up alot maybe he isn't staying full and its making him hungry. I would consult with your doctor to make sure. They ended up switching him from Zantac to Prevacid which works better. Never hurts to ask! Hope things improve I know how frustrating it is, Good Luck!

My baby had acid reflux. The problem in it's self is a burden for the baby. It really aggravated my baby girl. I noticed when we went on rides it went easier if I gave her the medicine a couple hours before going anywhere. Try givin your baby the med a couple hours before you go somewhere. Like plan a trip give the med and wait a while. Let the med settle. Acid Reflux pooped my baby out. She had it pretty bad. The moving around only made it worse.

Hey there,
I'm a medical researcher. It is widely agreed among physicians and medical paraprofessionals, that initial diagnosis, mostly by using a typical acid reflux symptoms questionnaire, is necessary to ensure the most effective and quick treatment for this condition. Approx 70% of the acid reflux diagnostics that are based on the presence of typical symptoms are accurate. Since acid reflux, also called GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), can cause patients a great deal of discomfort and result in severe complications, it is highly important to know how to identify its symptoms in order to quickly diagnose and treat it.
If you know you have acid reflux you can try this natural program http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=568

Was he prescribed the medicine by a doctor? and have you looked at the side effects, maybe the medicine does not suit him. If he has had acid reflux his eosophagus (throat/stomach) may be burnt and therefore it will hurt, have you looked into why he has acid reflux? If you are not sure of any of these please take him to the doctors straight away and get him checked out!!!

the car ride could have trapped some gas... my daughter was also on acid reflux medicine... (we had to give her cereal in her bottle at 2 months or she would throw up) we took a 4 hr drive and that night she was screaming and crying.. maybe it makes it worse.

It's hard to tell what it could be & I don't even want to guess. Call your doctor & see what he/she says. Did the doctor explain to you about propping your baby up a little after he drinks his bottle to eliminate the projectile vomiting? If not, ask about it. It'll be better on the baby & you. My grandson had it & we all got educated so we would know the right way to hold him during feeding, etc.
