A lot will depend on why he did it.
Of course, if he did it without a good reason then it is wrong.
Tell your parents - and tell them everything that led to the action he took. Don't make an accusation w/o all of the facts. It can be very embarrassing to you if you falsely accuse him.

UGH! I really hope you weren't getting in fight or doing something similar to that.
Personally I think teacher should be allows to paddle the student or kick them out of school without any hassle because today education system is just becoming a huge gigantic joke! And before you say I'm old fashion, I'm 22 and when I was in high school, 90% of the time students basically have run of the class. Almost everyday I spend more time hearing the teachers arguing with students about every kind of stupid things such as not eating in the class room, not talking or pass note, etc...
And no I wasn't the best student but I wasn't the worst or trouble maker either.
Edit:
Sorry for my rude comment. It's just I have heard so many people accuse teachers for various stupid things when it either never really happen or the students actually ask for it. As for answering your question, that's just so wrong on so many levels. I believe he could lose his job over this. I suggest you go to talk to prinicpal or one of the teacher you really trust first. If that doesn't work, talk to your parents. Make sure to get witness' info if there was any that saw the whole thing, you'll need them I promise. It'll be pretty much impossible to get anything done without witness. Oh and also take pic of hand mark as a proof.

Unless he was savin you from dying, there's no reason he needs to do that. Tell him that you are annoyed by it and if he does it again tell someone who can helpp you, like the cops, or a principal.
Technically, light touches are seen in the teaching world as a way to connect to students, but if it was more than that and if it was done for no apparent reason then you should talk to him about it. After all, he might come from a background where that's acceptable.

No, he cannot do that, it is a physical assault. Tell your parents and your school principal. And if it left a mark, get photos of it right away. If a teacher can't get you to hand something over, they are supposed to take the problem to your parents or the principal. They are not allowed to grab you.

NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That can be sexual abuse, depending on where he touched you. Also, teacher are not supposed to touch you at all, even for punishment, that law way passed in the 60's. Talk to someone you trust.
