How many people have (AND HATE) Sky tv yet cant bring themselves to cancel the contract? The only reason i cant is cos 'Lost' and 'Takeshi's Castle' are my fav programmes! Sky is SO expensive, always grapping your money PLUS the damn sky box keeps crashing...WHEN WILL PEOPLE WAKE UP AND REALISE THAT THEY ARE STRONGER THAN SKY?

Takeshi's Castle is now on ftn on Freeview. It's been on free to air German sports channel DSF for over 10 years. Lost will be on Sky Three sooner or later if it doesn't go to DVD first.

If everyone (as I did) cancelled their Sky contract and just made do with Freeview, they would discover that they dont really miss Sky programming that much - Lost is only good while you are hooked on it! Stop watching, and you get into something else! Also, Sky would soon drop the now ridiculously astronomical prices for their full package if their revenue started to fall as more and more people went to freeview.

When I cancelled Sky, I was hounded by them for ages to go back - if they spent less time and money harrassing their ex-customers, they could save a fortune that could be passed onto their existing customers in terms of a subscription rate cut.

I hate Sky. Can you tell? :-)

I hate Sky 1. Thankfully I don't have it any more thanks to Virgin. Sky sums up everything that is wrong with TV today. Yes I enjoyed Lost but it was ruined by endless loud advert breaks that destroyed any suspence. I will be quite happy to watch them on DVD (borrowed from a libary). I was driven mad by all the little logos that kept appearing in the top left of the screen to advertise yet another reality load of garbage - 10 days until 'celebrity bestiality island.' If you took away the Simpsons and lost all you'd get is Star Gate. Great TV? Not!
Anyway isn't Takeshi's castle on Paramount?

I have this Virgin TV cable box thing and I can watch Takeshi's Castle because it shows on Ftn (which is on all freeview boxes).

Virgin have bought the rights to Lost and should be showing it at around August. (Read it in the newspaper)

The Virgin TV box isn't much expensive either. So can't you get that?

I cancelled a couple of years ago. It was difficult for a few weeks but I soon adapted. I admit that I have now lapsed backed and have resubscribed, they have bought almost all of the top sporting events and charge WAY too much to show them. I hate them too but what can we do? All cancel at once? In the days of unions it might have been possible to get some cohesive action by the people of UK but we're too diverse to stick together now.

you can always go to the basic channels on sky so that you still get sky 1.

I quite like sky, I don't know why I don't often watch the films.
