What kind of colds do you mean? For example, when I have the kind of cold involving a stuffy nose or something, they seem worse at night because you have to lie down and for some reason it's like you really cannot breathe through your nose and it's discouraging.
I've always felt that colds/the flu gets worse at night as well. Also, you're body is really restless trying to fight the cold. When you need to relax the most, it can't because it's been doing it all day. I'm not saying that's the exact reason, just my deduction...don't be like me and refuse to take medicing, for stupid reasons. Even though I still feel crappy and feverish I don't do the medicine thing lol.

You mean like me last night,? I had a bad sore throat and it was difficult to sleep, cos my throat felt like it was being cut, every time I swallowed it was a nightmare. Now i've broken out in a full blown cold with the sniffles and sneezing, I'm gonna have another irratable night. Then again, I just get on with it, my husband would be a differant matter, he'd keep everyone awake.

First I think and now this is just me, when you are not feeling well you tend to have a lie down and it is harder to breathe through a stuffy nose and mouth and your air passages are not open. Plus you are trying to rest you don't feel good and a lot of the time nothing seems to make you feel better, you don't sleep well and you just feel like crap....try some either Tylenol nighttime, NyQuil or any of the nighttime cold meds. make sure you have enough time that you are awake enough the next morning in case you have to go to work.

Because we are occupied with other things during the day & it takes our minds off it. At night we have nothing to do but feel sorry for ourselves.
Incidentally, what has this question got to do with celebrities?

At night you concentrate on sleeping, but all you can seem to think about is how you can't get to sleep because of your cold. And it becomes a circle from there. You feel worse because you can't get to sleep and you can't get to sleep because you feel worse.

Because your already tired and run down from the day, plus your thinking of the next days work ahead which is enough to get anyone down.

because you're laying down and you get clogged up easier, take some cold nightquil stuff and sleep thru it, a cold normally last 2 weeks, good luck!!

The sniffling, coughing, and aching are all easily forgotten if you're distracted by your daily routine of work/school/whatever.....
But if you're trying to sleep....they all have your undivided attention.
That's why I love Nyquil.Take a shot and go right to lala-land!

I think it's because you're lying down, and nothing 'drains'. Mm, nice thought. So, either sleep standing up or dose yourself up on the old night nurse.
