I have a friend who is adamant that most Manchester United fans dislike the English national team. Is this true?

He claims that the last time he was at Old Trafford, the United fans were chanting 'Argentina'. Is there any reason behind this?

Argentina is a chant for Gabriel Heinze.

But, I would say that a lot of United fans don't like the gong show that is the English National Football team.

I would also say that most United fans don't appreciate the FA, and it seems vice versa.

I would also say that most United fans don't appreciate having to send our players to go on international duty (where they can get hurt, while other teams get rest) when we are in the middle of three title charges.

I am sure Pool, Arsenal and Chelsea fans see it the same way (opps, Arsenal and title charges this season; bit contradicting.)

Im a man utd fan and i have to say at this moment i dont have much time for england. I love my country but they are second to my club simple as. Its alot to do with the completely pointless time wasting friendlys that are played by england at the moment and the fact that even in a meaningful match there is no passion. When that returns, and it will return i will once again continue my support of england. And on the FA, they can go to hell. English football is nothing without manchester united and the premiership is easily capable of running it self without the FA interfering.

Also, Man Utd are just unbelievable this season and it would take a special performance against a major nation for england to get to that level.

I've been a Man U fan for a long time but I live in Australia so can't really answer that except to sat that I've not come across any on here that have stated that or not supported the English team. I'm very passionate about English football as I'm sure most of them are.

I'm a united supporter but i support England because they are my country and i dont feel the need to choose between them. however it does get annoying when our players are used as scapegoats everytime England fails to reach expectations and it happens all the time. Sometimes the England supporters fail to put aside the club shirt the lads wear and United players seem to always get pointed out when they do something wrong more than the rest because United are so disliked by supporters of other clubs. as for our relation with the fa thats something else but of course it has alot to do.

I am not sure about that, however they and Liverpool have a large Irish following.

Also, if you ever see Man u players in a line up before a national team match, they wont be singing the national anthem.
