You mean the Sacagawea Dollar? There is no gold in there. It's copper and brass.

There is no gold in any of the gold dollars and since they are currently in circulation it is unlikely that even a coin collector would pay more than $1. As far as Chev's comment about it being another stupid thing our government spends money on maybe she would be interested in knowing that according to the general accounting office between $120 and $180 million a year by minting coins instead of printing paper dollars. This is based on 6 billion dollars printed. This is because paper money wares out so fast and the government is forced to print more.

There's NO gold in the new gold dollar. That's why if you look closely at the advertising they call it the "golden" dollar. That way they can pretend they're talking about the color of the coin and not the metal gold. Just another way for the government to spend money on something unnecissary and stupid
