Clearly, we were, since the DOJ is admitting that it HAS been abused. So could you at least concede that we were right about it?

Matt: The conservatives didn't have the right to make the decision that I should give up some of my freedoms.

Dallas: I don't know; why don't you ask the Americans who were illegally spied on by the FBI? And yes, people DID say we were wrong.

Not a neocon, but yes. And it wasn't just you libs who thought that way, but us true conservatives as well.

I think your question is poorly phrased and shallow.

Who ever said the Patriot Act COULD NOT be abused? The questions are how often, in what way, whose rights were affected, to what effect, can it be fixed, and what evil has been prevented by the legal (and, arguably, illegal) use of the Patriot Act.

Even your tagline line that "DOJ is admitting that it HAS been" is misleading; no one is admitting or even alleging (except certain lefty goofs) that the government is improperly engaged in massive spying on alot of Americans.

Yes, I'm not a liberal but I agreed with them since the beginning of the Patriot Act. Even if it was meant for good purposes it was going to be abused.

They just can not since in the minds of the neo-cons (I use the word neo-con since they are not they are not truly conservative) can never be wrong but I also think that the liberals also have the same mentality about the laws that they pass.

I won't admit something just because you demand that I do.

No one with any intelligence would have ever said it couldn't be abused, so your position is faulty to begin with.

And, what law cannot be abused? We do not determine the policy of our nation based on what criminals might do. Our whole society is based on the policy-making of laws being followed, and law-breakers being punished.

I think Conservatives had the same concerns as Liberals. It's just Conservatives were willing to give up a little freedom in order to protect the country. Has it worked?

Nobody lost Freedoms and any law can be abused, so you are not right.

OK, show us the cases brought to court that abused the patriot act, well just one.

What do you mean no cases have brought to court. Oh yea, do did say yet, didn't you.

You are correct. What keeps me awake at night is thinking about what we don't know. They have been so secretive - there are things going on, that we find out about, that curl my toes (not in the good way, either). The only saving grace is their complete lack of competence.

Anything COULD be abused. It's ludicrous to believe otherwise.
