It has been said he will drive a lap of honor before the German Grand Prix. What do you suppose Schumacher will drive? Will he borrow Kimi's Ferrari? Maybe he will drive a Porsche to stick it to Ferrari for not providing him a reliable car in Japan last year.

This is a great idea. He has done so much for racing and it is only right that one of the most prestigious tracks name something after him. For what he will drive maybe he takes his old car for a spin. As for the Porsche idea I don't think that will happen yes it was disappointing last year but Ferrari has been good for him most of the time and provided him great cars in the past and one unfortunate event won't change anything about his loyalty to Ferrari.

One of the turns will be renamed this year for Michael Schumacher. I've not seen which turn, but as the announced name will be The Schumacher S, I would guess it would most likely be Turn 3, 5, or 9 (with an outside chance of it being the 1/2 or 6/7 complex).

Once it is officially renamed, he will then be the first driver to go through the new corner (and probably do an entire lap). I've not seen any announcement about what he will drive. It could be the pace car, a car arranged by the circuit (which would probably be Mercedes, though any German make would be possible). However, given he is still an employee of Ferrari, I'd expect that it will be in a Ferrari. If it is an F1 car, it will not be either of the race driver's car or the spare but one that the factory will send out for the specific purpose of that one lap.

Instead, they should name a "schumacher" move, after him. Every time a champion contender crashes another contender in order to get the championship, they should say oh what a beautiful schumacher he did there... awsome this guy has mastered the schumacher... Of course they could call it the "prost" if the next year the other driver gets even...

I would say the Schumacher S would be the last chicane before the start finish that he designed for the track about two years ago. Just a guess.

i think it is really nice to name a turn after him, even if he's done a little bit of cheating,he's still the most succesful drivers of al time

will you please all stop joking about it?
Schumi deserves whatever he receives,he's also a great
humanitarian,he donated a Million Euro at the Pitié-
Salpetrière hospital in Paris, the same hospital where he was treated after his terrible accident in Siverstone. He donated it
for searchers of so far neurological illnesses which are
almost hopeless. I can tell you all we all rejoiced as my little niece is treated there for Multiple Sclerosis.
and please don't tell me it's only for tax reasons.
