Oh yes. My mum has one in her hallway that you can't avoid, and it makes me look much fatter than every other mirror. Perhaps it's telling the truth, and all the others are lying?? Oh hell!!

Absolutely! I personally find that my mood dictates whether or not I like what I see when I look in the mirror!
There is also a specific mental disorder called body dysmorphic disorder in which a person thinks they are hideous - for these people the mirror really does lie - for info on the disorder check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_dysmorphic_disorder

Absolutely it can!
Many clothing shops have "Skinny Mirrors"
They are slightly concave and make the viewer appear thinner than they are, thus making the clothes look better, thus acheiving more sales.
Have you ever got home and tried your new clothes on in front of your own mirror and thought "They looked so much better in the shop" ?
That is why.
Also the news paper The Daily Mirror, probably lies a lot.

Fun-house mirrors are more accurate than the ones in the shops.

Well they can distort things. Like those horrible dressing room mirrors in Macy's. Add 10 lbs. and make you look two sizes bigger.

Do you?
Yes mirrors lie.... You don't even have to ask them any thing, and it can show you skinny or fat short or tall. That's the fun thing about the "house of mirrors" I love the carnivals.
HOWEVER household mirrors, Don't lie. You get what you see and that's that.

Yeah kind of! I remember when I got my side parting and sweeping fringe put in, the first time I saw a photo I was really confused cos it was the other side to when I looked in the mirror!! Sounds very sad - but it was really weird!!!
