I have a Fender guitar amp. When i use it it'll work for a few minutes but then it'll slowly turn off, even though I didn't turn it off. After a minute it'll come back on, but a few minutes later it happens again. And so on. All my wires are properly connected. The amp and guitar are a few years old if that makes a difference.

You really need to bring it in to a tech. Your local guitar shop should be able to help you. Don't go to Guitar Center, they're no help.

Your dealing with electrical stuff, DON'T fool around with electricity.

I'm not sure why this is happening. I do play guitar and I have an amp of my own, but I've never seen that before. I would probablly have to say the reason is because the amp is old. However, the age of the guitar itself wouldn't make a difference. I think the best thing to do is get a new amp. Good luck :) and happy playing!

i had an amp that did that did that same thing, not a tube amp, i i just hit it real hard. I guess i knocked something in there cause it worked. I don't suggest you do that because it may cause more harm than good

If it's not a tube amp or if they check out OK I'd try running a fan into it to see if it's overheating. Also check to see if something is inside it that could block airflow.
Good luck.

Yeah your amp is short circuiting so you might want to buy a new amp.
