i use the bt home hub(option 3) but i have not used any of the software that came with it,its not nessecary
as long as you use a ethernet connection, internet explorer will work fine
and so i can keep a tab on my downloads i made a shortcut for the hub manager on my desktop,to do this ,,insert the bt software disk in your drive and explore the contents, look for the hub manager icon and send this to the desktop as a shortcut
as this icon(shortcut) is only a url(web address) this shortcut will work fine and no actual program needs to be installed
the actual bt security software is not very good,it pretty basic as is all free software supplied by i.s.p,s,you would be far more secure by using a good free scanner such as avast4.7(http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html)and a.v.g (http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1),as well as being free these programs are remarkebkly good
good luck

Also check you have sufficient RAM. The BT software needs 256MB minimum, but if that is all you physically have then graphics will have nicked some of this. (Check in My Computer>Properties) In practice you need 512MB physical RAM.

Try re-booting again. If that doesn't work. try re-installing the program.
