Definitions in Dictionaries vary but “disbelief in God or gods” is a good explanation of Atheism. This means all gods and their spiritual entourage and trappings. Here, we must draw a distinct difference between an Atheist and the non-religious. It is far more than splitting hairs to do so. The state of being non-religious can mean a variety of things. It could be that circumstance of life has not had a religious orientation and the necessary brainwashing has not occurred. It could be that the brainwashing was so intense and accompanied by enough negatives as to have rejection by example taking place. There may be other reasons as to why a non-religious position in life is followed.

There are two definitions of atheist.
The first, and more linguistically accurate, is a person who has absolutely no theology. In other words, someone who does not believe in any deities or religions.
The other, more popular definition is a person who refuses to believe in any sort of supreme being or religion. Technically, someone with this philosophy should be an anti-theist, but it does not roll off the tongue as nicely as atheist.
The short answer is someone who doesn't believe in God, Yahweh, Ganesha, Allah, or The Flying Spaghetti Monster.

I am an athiest.
Athiests do not believe in God. Some, however, have alternate theories that serve them just as well. For example, as an athiest, I believe that there is a divine connecting force that exists between all things. It is a lot like God, but more personal and less centralized. A lot of people rag on athiests for being heretics and not believing in anything. But we still believe, we just believe differently.
Even though I am not religious, I am still spiritual.

An Atheist is someone who denies God. They can still be religious, and lead wholesome lives. They just refuse to believe that there is only on deity/person/etc controlling all that we see and hear.

some people get this confused with an agnostic, which is someone who believes that there is no way to know if there truly is a god
in recent years, some say that atheism has become kind of a fad... but idk.

An atheist is a person who does not believe that God exists.
they don't believe that there is a God and are very non-religious. They also tend to believe that whatever strange things that happen on earth happen not bcause of god, but because of science(a trait familiar in scientists)
