can i put water conditioner in my tank while my fish are in there?

Yes. It will still be there if you put it in beforehand.

absolutely fine. Best to add it before so that it mixes whilst pouring it into the tank and no strong "gloups" float in the tank. but all conditions are harmless to fish if used correctly. Ensure you read the instructions to obtain the correct dosage rate for the water capacity and you will have healthy fish with the perfect water condition.

You should read the directions on the bottle. Most conditioners are safe to use in a live tank but don't hold me to it (since i don't know which brand you are using). If it's unsafe for a live tank it will usually say so on the bottle. Just don't over dose it.

Sure. Better to add it before the fish are there or add it to the water before you put the water in the tank, but you certainly can add it after the fact.

I use a python for water changes on both my 29 and 75 gallon tanks. I always add the dechlorinator directly to the water. No other way for people that use pythons or similar equipment(and there are a lot of us) to add it.
