does anyone know what kind of things you need to have on your CV (so what i need to do considering my CV is unbelivably blank!) to be in the running for an internship at a place like Teen Vogue, Vogue, Glamour, Harpers, GQ and all these glossy mags?!
Also, if anyone knows how to apply that would be useful too!

btw, i have like a year before i need to submit my CV so i have time to fill it up lol!

oh my, obviously people are not feeling v heplful today. For those of you who arent English a CV is a curriculum vitae which is our version of a resume.

Try www.monster.co.uk- they have CV templates there. also, ring the companies up and ask them what experience is needed and then you can find out what you need to do over the next year to get enough of that experience! good luck and ignore the losers on here who have nothing better to do than be nasty!

I think you have all the information you need about your CV.
RM gave you a very good answer.
May I wish you lots of luck . I just wondered why so many people have never heard of a CV.

CV = Curriculum Vitae.

In Ireland a CV is required when applying for almost any job.

why do you lot not know what a CV is? this is the english yahoo isnt it?

anyway, you need to start with name, address, age, etc then a paragraph about yourself like "I am a young, confident individual with excellent communication skills blah blah blah..." then you detail school exam results, then further education results and then work experience. The last paragraph should be about your hobbies (but obviously dont put drinking, smoking and sex) and any other skills you have like full clean driving liscence, first aid qualification etc

it's also good to put down if you're a member of any clubs, it shows commitment.

Hope this helps

Put in any involvement with the industry you might have, from an interest in photography to an interest in writing, obviously anything you've done with relation to make-up, fashion, hair etc.
If you have a year, try applying to any magazine or newspaper office in your locality. Offer to do scutwork, errand girl, anything at all, just for the chance to hang out in the building. Offer to do it on a voluntary basis if they have no jobs to offer you.
Try to do even short courses in any areas related to that kind of work - even evening courses or one-off day courses, anything to bulk up the CV.
Good luck!

I know nothing about how to help with your ambition.
However I recognised the plea for people to answer your question, so I am answering.
Usually I do not answer questions I know little about, so by putting the actual question you want answered as the question, you will only attract the people who feel they can help you.
Sometimes serious questions will not get a lot of answers because not a lot of people who see the question can answer it.
It is better to get a few proper answers, than lots of inappropriate ones.

Well, to show them that you are glossy mag potential, you need to say how you had such fantastice sex with this strange fella that you first met on answers. Of course, on a CV you can't lie, so...I'm waiting to hear from you. When and where?

What you mean is: your Resume (curriculum vitae)
Sorry, I don't know much about the industry, you definitely need to say which languages you speak and your interest in fashion as well as journalism.
Good luck!

curriculum Vitae? I thought that was only if you were applying for a job with a PHD. I think you will be fine just submitting a resume.
