2. Contact an agent
3. Drive around, looking
4. Look in a newspaper.

the best method is know what you want in a new home to include bedrooms, bath, garage, land acreage, single or two-story, along with price range. take all this information and go to an available realtor and you will get a list of your choices and then you go out and look at these homes, at the same time you will come across other homes for sale that may not be on your list to give you more ideas. eventually you will find the one you want. the newspaper will have your most current listings as far as for sale by owners.
