Mass communication is talking to a large group of people at once. It's usually used to mean recorded or broadcast, in other words more people than can fit in one room or one theater.

It then in brought to those kinds of media that are capable of that communication, like newspapers, magazines, television, radio, Internet, and sometimes even books and cinema (however many people assume it's non fiction, and that it's immediate, so that would exclude books and cinema).

Mass communication can help you get a job by reading newspapers for job adverts, or checking out sites like dice.com and monster.com. Or, you could get a job programming for Google, or advertising for Yahoo or DJing at a radio station.
