I'm looking to travel from Beaverton to Corvallis and back and I don't want to drive the 1 1/2 hours each way.

Sort of.

There is a Greyhound Bus Station in Corvallis, but not one in Beaverton, the choices would be Portland, Newberg, Tigard or Woodburn, but there may be metro bus to one of those from where you are in Beaverton.

Amtrak Cascades commuter train goes from Portland, through Oregon City, and down to Albany, you could possibly take metro to the Portland Train Station, Amtrak Cascades to Albany, then the local bus from Albany to Corvallis (there is one).

Seems to be the best public transit has to offer you, sorry.
