I'm a very fertile person. I have 3 children and bound to get pregnant again. My doctor recomends me not to take birth control because of my mom having breast cancer at an early age but I gotta do something..Please is there any birth control besides condoms that I can look into??

Your husband could get a vasectomy, which would make him sterile. Sex will be the same, but his semen won't contain sperm. The operation is sometimes reversible, with a vasovasectomy, which means he could have his "tubes untied" and be able to make a baby if he eventually changed his mind.

You could get an IUD, which is a device implanted in your uterus making it impossible to get pregnant. The device is removable.

You could have a tubal ligation which is essentially a vasectomy for females. They tie or block your fallopian tubes, making pregnancy impossible, but the procedure is sometimes reversible.

There are other surgeries which can be used as permanent brith control, like an oophorectomy (removal of the ovaries). Here's a good site for explanations of female sterilization surgeries.

Other than that- tell him to pull out ;)

Well, can you not take any kind of birth control or just not the pills? B/c there is the patch which you wear for a week at a time, the Depo-Vera shot you get every 3 months I think, The NuvaRing or an IUD which is inserted in you and I think you leave it in for a month at a time, or you can get your tubes tied or have your hubby get a vasectomy. There's always abstinence but that's no fun.

BC pills are supposed to have a protective effect against breast cancer. I'd get a second opinion on that one.

IUDs perform "on the fly" abortions. They litterally kill the fertilized egg by preventing it from implanting.

Diaphragms have a high failure rate.

Cervical caps cause cervical errosion.

Vasectomies are effective, safe and quick. Not advisable if your husband has ever had epididimitus - the one side effect of this procedure.

Tubal ligation is also safe and effective - get an experienced surgeon.

Good luck.

i think that a cancerous outcome all depends on the person, and may not solely be caused by BC.
I have been on several different methods for over 15 yrs. and have been fine.
I believe the shot or the Norplant injection/IUD that can come out of your uterus when you choose to have children again is just like tying up your tubes.
But look into these two.
As well as this site of natural bc methods.
such as the DIAPHRAGM,FOAM and SUPPOSITORIES
and make sure you speak with your gyno so that he/she can provide you with more information on these or other options you two can take ....
But good luck and take care in which ever you choose!

The only sure method of not getting pregnant is abstinence. Even with birth control, there is a slight chance of impregnation... even if it's only .01%. I think that means that out of every 1000 women on that form of birth control, one will get pregnant regardless.

Many people say drinking Mountain Dew is a good birth control method. I don't know if it's legit though.

in australia they have almost released a pill for the guys...it only needs to be taken just prior to sex.....
for yourself there are implants...(IUD), diagphrams which you use with spermicide and implanons which are a little device that is implanted into your arm and can last 3 years....
discuss these and any options with your doctor....
