Windows genuine advantage, What the heck is this? Is it a critical update. My copy of windows is legit OK, I had to enter a code to activate it. So why do they want to install this software. Is it a program? It phones home? Why? It sounds like spyware to me. I cancelled it though. Will I still get automatic updates from them now or will I stop getting updates now because I didnt install there little program.

WGA just checks that it is a valid copy of windows. if it is not. you will loose functionality of your operating system. its not spyware or anything. just makes sure your legit. if you entered the keycode yourself i think you're ok with downloading it

Genuine Windows Advantage is that you have advantages that non-genuine users have. Like having Service Pack 2.
Non-Genuine users can't have that. Fore almost every software you need will require SP2(Service Pack 2). And there are lots more of advantages.

What you think is a spam is not a spam. Its called Automatic Update. So basically this software updates your computer when there's an update for your operating system.

You will get automatic updates until you disable it.

I hoped this help you.
