A poll is something I like to dance on for the entertainment and enjoyment of well endowed and financially flush men everywhere
A survey is something that I do when I scope out said well endowed and financially flush men
i.e. "Y'all gonna do that there poll dance, Foxy"
"Yep, soon as I finish surveying this room for the well endowed and financially flush men"

a poll is 'how many of you like this..., have that..., feel this way about... etc. a survey is
"what age are you..., what nationality...?"
70 % of the questions don't neet the definition. and 97% of us don't care. most of us are just here for the fun and to get abused by the haters.

in the case of this particular forum... nothing. those of us who often find ourselves run out of the more "majority dominated" "report happy" categories, find refuge here.
as for actual definitions, they are a collection of responses to generalized questions, usually intended for statistical reasons.
screw it.
viva la resistance!
