regina spektor is my favorite, real off beat. her 1st album 11:11 is discontinued and only available on itunes now, its my fav. but her newest album, begin to hope has a lot of fun tracks. also, you cant go wrong with modest mouse or the shins and i love joss stone. oh! and amy winehouse has a fun smoky almost '50's sound.
