Don't use soap; the stone will absorb the taste. Some folks just scrape off browned bits and put the stone back into the oven. I prefer to give mine a good scrub with salt, baking soda, and hot water. Let it air dry, and you might want to apply a little olive oil all over.

Don't use soap!!!
I know from experience that a pizza stone will abosrb any flavor that is left on it.
The best way to clean would be simply with hot water. Try to remove all the left over debris, dry it completely and store it.
It will retain whatever flavor that you leave on it. The upside is that it will help pizzas taste better and give it a more rustic taste.

I worked at a pizzeria and they heated the pizza stones and scraped off the debris. "Heat only a few minutes" he would say. I don't ever remember they used soap or ran these through the washers.

Hot water and a plastic scraper. They sell them at any kitchen store. NEVER use chemicals or soap. I wipe mine dry with a paper towel. If there's any residue, I repeat. You could also use a sponge with a scrubber side on it..just as long as it's got no soap in it.
