This idea comes from the Greek philosopher Anaximander (611-547 BC) that all humans came from fish (one of the earliest known hypotheses on evolution).
Interesting fact: Fish in the subclass Sarcopterygii (lungfish and coelacanths) are the only animal group other than mammals to have enamel on their teeth!

All species have a common ancestor, if you go back far enough in the evolutionary tree. From what I can tell, Asian people evolved from Sarcopterygii, a class of lobe-finned fishes, about 400 million years ago. And so did all other mammals, including you, me, Italian people, Scandanavians, polar bears, horses, and squirrels. More importantly, however, ALL humans came from a much, much more recent common ancestor, making talk of one ethnic group and only one ethnic group evolving from fish, rather comical.

I don't believe this is a serious question, but I still feel compelled to point out that homo sapiens (that's human beings) evolved from apes.

it's all a matter of opinion. I personally believe we did not, but some people (obviously as shown here) believe we did. no one can prove either.
