i want to ultimately teach, but not sure which road to take. doing teachers college first is an option, since i cannot defer teachers college and in two years when i would reapply, there could be too many teachers, so not as many spots opened, and i may not get in the second time around. doing a masters first would open many doors, such as PhD, but then doing teachers college after would allow me to become department head, vice principle, etc. i'm confused on what to do. any insight???

What do you mean by teacher's college???? ANYWAY, I'm not sure what you're talking about but I'll give you some insight on the profession of teaching. To teach elementary or high school, you only need to have a Bachelor's degree, but it's highly recommended to get a Master's for the ovbious reasons (more money!). If you want to teach @ a University, you're expected to have a PhD, but many colleges and universities hire ppl who only have a Master's when they're aren't enough qualified ppl with PhDs or there are a large number of students at the school and they need teachers for the lower-numbered courses (primarily those taken by freshman and sophmores or even ppl to teach science or business labs)
