I am pretty sure my dad explained it to me once, but I have forgotten. Why couldn't we end world poverty by giving people who are poor a certain amount of money, if they don't spend it wisely then we don't give them another. That would get rid of alot of the poverty stricken areas I think.

The more money in circulation the less its worth.

If america made say 100 billion dollars and gave it out to everyone freely, then the VALUE of american dollar will plummet.

Simple things like a can of coke would cost several thousand dollars because of inflation.

Where would the money come from? If you mean just print more, this de-values money and leads to inflation. There will ALWAYS be poor people and rich people. Utopia exists only in imagination. There are many places that already provide for poor people. Just handing someone a few bucks won't usually end their poverty. Most time it goes much deeper.

This isn't perfectly accurate, but it gives you an idea of what money really is. Let's assume that we have an amount of wealth "W". If we have printed x dollars. The true value of a dollar is W/x. Let's say we doubled the amount of dollars in circulation to pass out. Now our true value per dollar is W/2x. Each dollar is worth half as much as it used to be. If you just start printing money, money becomes worthless and screws everyone over.
