- The nuclear weapon "Little Boy" was dropped on the city of Hiroshima on 6 August 1945.
- At 08:15 (Hiroshima time), the Enola Gay dropped the nuclear bomb called "Little Boy" over the center of Hiroshima.
- "Little Boy" exploded about 600 meters (2,000 ft) above the city with a blast equivalent to about 13 kilotons of TNT (the U-235 weapon was considered very inefficient, with only 1.38% of its material fissioning), instantly killing at least an estimated 90,000 people.
- Infrastructure damage was estimated at 90% of Hiroshima's buildings being either damaged or completely destroyed.
- The detonation of the "Fat Man" nuclear bomb over Nagasaki on 9 August 1954.
- The drop date of August 6 was chosen because there had previously been a cloud formation over the target.
- It is estimated that as many as 140,000 had died in Hiroshima by the bomb and its associated effects, with the estimate for Nagasaki roughly 74,000.
- In the years between 1950 and 1990, it is statistically estimated that hundreds of deaths are attributable to radiation exposure among atomic bomb survivors from both Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
- On August 15, 1945 Japan announced its surrender to the Allied Powers, signing the Instrument of Surrender on September 2 which officially ended World War II.
Hope these help.

We murdered almost 175,000 people. Most of them innocent women, children, and elderly. A few Americans were also killed in the blasts. It was NOT to end the war. This is a lie. It was to scare the Russians who had their own plans to invade Japan. It was to scare the Nazis who were close to having their own A bomb. The Japanese government had been trying to surrender without "losing face". But the American government would'nt allow that to happen. We had already destroyed half of Japan. Many cities had already been fire bombed. Our government has never been able to do anything right. Iraq today proves my point.

1. Kagoshima in Southern Kyushu was an alternate target of the second A-bomb because of its Tokkotai (Kamikaze Attack Group) base and training camp. It was passed over in favor of Nagasaki because of cloudy weather.
