"It's just a way of shaming people," said Maury Beaulier, whose firm is in Eden Prairie, Minn.
(shame on you for giving prop's to dead-beat people who make babies, but don't understand the concept of PARENT)

Actually, it's an EXCELLENT example...SHAME...just tie a sign around someones neck, telling the world that they don't pay child support, are molesters, thief, etc. GREAT way to let JQ Public the "goods" on this person.
And it sends a clear message; repeat business for criminal lawyers is bad business for EVERYBODY!

Attorneys may or may not be personally interested in justice, but they are duty-bound to represent their clients to the best of their ability, whether or not they personally believe in their client's case or cause. A few go too far and cross ethical boundaries, but I find that most attorneys are acutely aware of the fine line they tread, and are much more cognizant of where they stand with respect to "justice" than most people.
I say this without having read your linked article.

The bad thing about this is the real innocent people that get tied up into being "labeled" because of circumstance and law. One example, a construction company I worked for had an employee that had to register as sex offender. He was 19 and dating girl at 16 or 17. Parents charged him. The two got married sometime after that and even now he still has to register (I think they are in their 30's now).
The bad thing about non-supporting dads is that even though they do need to be responsible about paying, this does not cover all dads. I have seen women who abuse the system quite alot themselves. My uncle's ex-wife wants the kids to come live with him but she gets about 50% of his income for child support and will not release if kids go to him. There would be no way he could afford to have his 3 teenage boys and still pay her - so what's the options? He refuses to let them come (gets labeled as uncaring dad???) or he lets them come and doesn't pay, gets his face on pizza box.
It's very hard to make rules that don't have gray areas and can hurt some people who don't deserve getting the short end of the stick. BTW, I was a child support recipient and a payer. So this is not totally a 3rd person point of view.

No most lawyers are only interested in wins. They are concerned with weather or not the case is winnable.Because lost court cases look bad on their resume'.Where winning them looks good especially if they have political hopes. That is why a lot of criminals get away with their crime. If the D.A. doesn't think he or she can win a case they don't want to prosecute it.The only other thing the lawyers care about is the money.

most of these people obviously dont know lawyers. I have been a lawyer in NYC since 1997. There are ppl in every profession that lack values and are greedy. The legal profession is no better or worse.
The majority of attorneys that i know stay very commited to their values and ethical code.
ppl dont understand a lawyers job. it is not to find justice. it is not to make everyone happy. it is to represent their client to the best of their ability within the law. nothng else matters. And THAT is according to our legal system. It is up to the judge and jury to decide the case....we just fight it.

Only money, notoriety, and climbing the social/career ladder; the sign of a successful lawyer is how well law and ethics can be manipulated to get their desired results; who cares about right and wrong these days?

Attorneys are interested in money only.
It's not the attorney's job to administred justice, but rather is the judges job to to this.
An attorney's job to defend even the most despicable individuals, just so they can earn the almighty dollar.
Good luck

I believ that prosecuting attourneys are interested in serving justice. Defense attourneys, however, I honestly don't think so. I don't know how some of them sleep at night or can even look in the mirror. I guess when you read your bankbook and see all the $$$$, it makes it easier for them...
