Personally I think they are both incredible and both deserve to go number 1. Oden was the most dominating high school center in countless years, while Durant was the most dominating collage player in countless years. However Oden will likely end up going first despite the lack of incredible numbers, but think about this I Oden was healthy all season he may have had somewhere around 20, 10 and 4(blocks). Big Men also always struggle in collage with the uptempo game.

What a great, young team the Celtics will have if they get Oden(Dorant will be nice too)

PG: West(maybe telfair or Rondo can become better)
SG:Tony Allen(had a stretch of like 15 games this year in which he scored no less then 20, unfortunate season ending injury cost him and the Celtics)
SF:Paul Pierce(All Star Snub)
PF:All Jefferson(Has Had a breakout year at Center, still very young)
C:Oden

Also Gerald Green and Wollyworld are great backups

Durant is too small to play in the NBA. He is 19 and weighs about 180 if that. Hes a forward, not a guard. Eventually he will be good in the NBA but like most things it takes time. Oden said he wasnt ready, becuase the NBA is a 'scoring league' and he didnt think he would be able to make an immediate impact in the league. I think he would have a faster impact than Durant in his first 2 years. A dominant big man is the most important thing, that is why Shaq is such a prized commodity. As for staying in school, i'd love to see both stay.. but not likely at all with all the money and injury risk. I think Oden will stay unless he wins a title.

If they both go, Oden will go fisrt.. unless the lottery winner has a dominant center.

I personally think it will depend on the team. but if i were an NBA GM i would go with Oden. He is a legitimate center, with the skills a center needs to be able to affect a game without having to score a bunch, think of Ben Wallace a couple of years back. Except Oden is a better offensive presence. Durant is great too, but he will not come into the NBA and be a stud from tipoff. He needs to add some weight and muscle. Oden from a physical standpoint is ready to jump in. So I see Oden going first, to almost any team (except maybe Bobcats who do not need an immediate presence to "contend" since they are not contenders) all other teams will be looking for an impact guy to start off the bat

Dear nithin 97,

i think it depends on the team that has the first choice. i think Durant is a lot more developed in terms of his abilities. He can definitely come in and score right away.

That being said, Oden is defensively ready for the NBA but his offense lacks. However, Centers are hard to come by in the NBA, the NBA's best teams: Mavericks (starts Diop) and Suns (start Stoudemire who is really a power forward or sometimes Kurt Thomas- same thing), so being that the league is center short- Oden may go first for that reason.

If i was on a team that had a decent center- i'd pick Durant first. Oden is a special defensive player but he still needs to bulk up and work on his inside game.

Kindly,

Nickster

They will definately be the 1 and 2 picks in the draft but i think durant hurt his chances for the 1 pick by losing early to USC.Oden is still in the tournament and has a good shot to win it all.Durant is an amazing offensive player and is hard to guard.Oden is an amazing defensive player and has some good post moves in the post and is very hard to stop so i think Oden will be the number 1 overall pick.

If you're talking with NBA GM's, it will be Oden. Centers are the hardest position to find. Plus he'll fit in on any team out there with his defensive skills.

Durant has the potential to be better, but it needs to be the right situation and team where his offensive skills will blossom. He'll need some freedom with the ball on the offensive end. He's not the defensive stopper like Oden so he's not as easy to just plug into a team.

Oden by far. Look how far he has brought his team in the tournament. He played with a fricken broken hand and still scored 24 points. Texas lost to god damn USC. Oden is just the better franchise player who will improve whatever team he is on. Durant is great, but i think oden will be drafted first.

We'll see how the rest of the tourney goes.. If Ohio St. wins, then I gotta go with Oden. Although Durant I think is a better player stats-wise, Oden can make plays happen and would be great on a team that needs a powerful center.

Durant should get picked first he is a big that has good range.
While Oden is just a defensive minded player really. Most his points come from the post.

oden will go first just because he is a more impact player than duranrt. durant will be the 2nd choice. and they will both enter the draft
