This is ridiculous. Stop giving credit to liberals for this! As much as they are hypocrites for claiming to support the troops and not the war. The people who did this are anarchists, and anarchists hate liberals. I know this because I'm an anarchist. Liberals are capitalists, that believe in the state. That makes them "right-wing". That's correct people, do some damn research, the left (that is anti-capitalists), and especially the anti-authoritarian left (ie, anarchists), hate liberals and conservatives equally.

So damn it, recognize that this action makes sense for anyone opposed to the war, conservatives have anyway, and then give credit to those who deserve it. Anarchists are going to come straight out and say that they think the troops are as much, if not more, at fault than the government. Because any person can declare war on anything, it's the people that commit the war that are at fault. That's right the soldiers.

And the masks make sense, believe me. Because it tends to be that in protesting a comrade may decide to actually take action against a reviled institution, and in said situation would not want to be targeted by the cops nor video taped for later arrest. Thus, in a group of 100+ people all wearing black and masks, it is incredibly difficult for the police to abduct someone and pin any act on them.

And the liberals keep calling this a "violent" act. Well why don't you go stand in Iraq for an hour and let me know if you still think burning some clothes stuffed with paper is a violent act. Ok.

"Its always striking how pathetic the condemnations of antiauthoritarian "violence" are, and how sad and meaningless the people who ridicule anarchists must feel. We run as warriors, in tribes without leaders, past burning police cars, through the gardens we planted in the lots we liberated from a system that is rotting, and dying, and we act as we must, as equals. We make our lives into adventures while struggling to make sustainable alternatives to capitalism, we give and receive goods and services without money or coercion, we write poetry on walls and make music, we're fighting for our lives to be happy.

The people who write snide articles in newspapers or mentions us on their television show (which none of us watch), and the people who see pictures of "violent demonstrators" and feel all smug about their car and house and job, they're the people who need us the most. Their lives are escaping them, and in their complicity, they support a machine that is stealing everyone else's lives, sustaining a monstrous, post-human inertia that is fundamentally melancholic, and fatalistic.

Cops, bureaucrats, soldiers, priests, patriots, "absolute pacifists", young, hip professionals: you are the target. You can make fun of the crazy anarchists, who smell so bad and never really "get things done", but we're already dancing in the wreckage of the world you work so hard to maintain. Your fashionably green energy policies are only making it harder for us to find gasoline for firebombs. Your self-satisfied, self-referential status quo is collapsing, and we are planting wheat among your bones."

No, but why is Bill O'Reilly et al so obsessed about the burning of a soldier in effigy instead of reporting on the plight of REAL soldiers?

Where was Fox News on the Walter Reed scandal? The "liberal" Washington Post was out there reporting it, while Fox was obsessing about some anarchists burning an effigy or the latest "outrage" to come out of Rosie O'Donnell's mouth?

Don't you see that the coverage of this is designed to manufacture your outrage and divert you from what is really important?

While I support freedom of speech I think they obviously need to pass a law against wearing face masks at protest rallies, at least their nazi and communist counterparts were never so shy about proving they were idiots. The USA only exists as long as we have brave men and women willing to serve, when we lose our resolve to fight, this country dies. The cowards who burned that effigy should try living in one of those countries they side with and see how long they survive. Of course it makes one wonder if these people might have been some of those "refugees" we made the mistake of letting into our country from one of those cesspools of humanity. I believe preserving the Constitution is more important than a law against flag burning, but I reserve the right to call them a coward and a traitor when they do it, and strongly encourage them to find another country to bless with their presence. I see anyone buring soldier effigys I may just pick up my double bitted axe and go beserk.

I support their freedom to free speech, but not the message they were trying to convey.

Burning troops in effigy does nothing. They are only sent where they are told to go.

Burning the American flag is meaningless. They should be burning Confederate flags instead.

Do you support the white trash conservatives that burn Harry Potter books in Western Michigan? I just want to see what caliber of conservative you are.

i'm not for the war... but I AM NOT for buring an American Soldier effigy..

we have free speech in this country, but that isn't expression, that is downright disrespect for those in uniform doing their job.

I'm not for burning a flag either (well, as proper disposal, that is the way, but that is done privately, not publicly).

so, no, no support for what you describe

why does there need to be one extreme or the other.. you're for us or against us.. what happened to the color gray.

extremism is the problem, here and everywhere.. it always seems to be about which god do you believe in for the far extremes...

why don't we look at and fix the problems, not look at easy symptoms that are easy to blame...

Oh sure, all of us liberals are bad people, we hate the soldiers (like my good friend in the Texas National Guard, etc.). Life is so easy when you can cast false aspersions on people you don't agree with! Man, you are pathetic. Instead of hating on your fellow countrymen, why don't you find a way to get people to do something constructive, like say give rides to old diabled vets to their appointments at the VA? Oh, that's right, because that would require effort on your part. F-you loser.

Not at all. I support our troops and hold the utmost respect for our servicemen and women. It's the war in Iraq I oppose. I also support Afghanistan and would like nothing more than to have Iran bombed the crap out of.

No.

Do the nut job Neo-Cons in here support lying American soldiers to death rather than admitting a mistake? Just want to know the quality of Neo-Con in here.

Depends on your definition of support: Do I agree with their tactics and would I do it myself - absolutely not. Do I support their right to express their views in a non-violent manner - absolutely. That is what the soldiers who have died for the last 200+ years have died for - our right to voice our opinion. Voltaire said it best - "I disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
