I made dinner reservations for Tony's at Magic Kingdom (WDW) for 7:40pm on a Sunday in April. This will enable me to view the parade (Spetromagic?) at 9pm or so. The people taking the reservation said I can request the outside sitting at 'check in'. What if I tip a hostess when I get there? Is this frown upon (or appreciated)? Will this get me anywhere (i.e. increase my chances for an outdoor sitting)? What do you think?

Disney cast members are not supposed to accept tips, especially under these type circumstances.

The best thing is to tell them what you would like and they will try to get you what you are looking for. It will all depend on other reservations, table sizes available, etc. Dining during the fireworks time is going to be busy, so you may not get your requests. They may have a table, but you may need to wait a little longer than normal if you want it. So, if you are willing to work with them, they will work with you as well and try to get you what you want.

But as with most things at Disney, nothing is guarenteed, but it is worth a shot.

You may find that you are more likely to get a good view if you eat at California Grill at Contemporary, it is a little easier than it can be at Tony's.

But as far as the tipping, that won't be of much help. Just let them know your request and they will do what they can to get it for you.

If the castmember is honest, she will not be able to accept your tip (or she can risk losing her job). My best advice is to get there early and make the request. The request is just that not a guarantee only a request. As long as you don't expect things they may or may not happen, you won't have disappointments! Have a magical time on your vacation!

Disney is willing to work with everyone! Its suppost to be the happiest place on earth remember. DO NOT TIP THEM. Disney people are suppost to go above and beyond to help. Ask for what you want and explain how happy it would make you. They should try to do everything they can. Tiping within the parks wont get you anywhere. They probally couldnt even except it anyways there are so many people watching.
