I am a receptionist at a company. The people that work in production cannot have phone calls unless it is an emergency. I can take messages and deliver them to a message box for the employees. Well, an employees daughter called and wanted to speak with her mother. I asked if I could take a message and she said no and hung up. She called again later and asked if she could speak to her mother and I asked if it was an emergency. She said "This is her daughter." I asked if I could take a message and if this was an emergency and she hung up. How rude!!! This daughter was probably in her teens or preteens. She was very rude. I know that if my child called my place of business and was rude to an employee I would be upset. What about you?

I didn't decide if it was an emergency or not. The person who calls is the one who decides. I just ask if it's an emergency. I don't need to know why they call. I just need to know if it is so then I can call the person over the intercom.
