Wow, OMG, how little people know.

Robert Kennedy was Jack BROTHER, not uncle, and he died 5 years after Jack. As did Martin Luther King, both in 1968.

Jack died in 1963 - the Berlin Wall fell in 1989.

The end of the vietnam war was in the seventies, and the Civil Rights act was in 1964.

Events in John F Kennedy (35th President of the USA) life?

Born in 1917, so just about alive at the end of WW1 (18), was a boy during the depression (29), but his family was rich so he barely realised there was a major crisis going on. Was in the Navy and serving in the Pacific on the Patrol Boats (PT's) - he was a Liutenant of PT109 (42ish). Other outside events, China's fall to communism (49), first a-bomb blast (45), Sputnik (57), Czech coup (56), start of Vietnam (54), Korea (53), Berlin split (45) and erection of Berlin wall (61), Pearl Harbour (41), McCarthyism (who was a friend of his) and Red Scare (40's and 50's), LOADS of things.

In his presidency, Bay of Pigs (61), Berlin Wall (61), Civil Rights Crises (throughout), Cuban Missile Crisis (62), Partial Test Ban Treaty (63) yada yada yada.

He was the Captain of P.T.109, an elusive gun boat made of almost total plywood. And he was a decorated Hero for when his boat was under heavy fire and sinking,he saved many of his crew! And as President, he backed down the Soviet Union in the missile crisis when the discovery of Soviet missiles were being sent to Cuba,He ordered a shipping blockade and the air-force was just hours away from attacking and bombing the missile silos that were already built on the Island Nation Ruled by Castro. The Soviets pulled out and dis-assembled the silos. He was already dead by the time his brother Robert was assassinated and he was also dead for five years when Martin Luther King was killed.
