WIDESPREAD PANIC is easily the greatest touring band of today. They've been touring 20 years and still jam at every show they play. And they've never played the same show twice! Ive been to 7 shows but know some people who have been to over 100

better than ezra is extremely good live ...
typically the best bands to hear live are the ones that keep it simple ... bands that don't use obscene amounts of studio tricks on their albums like fall out boy or panic! at the disco
also bands that have been together for a long time tend to be amazing live ... dream theater has amazingly complex live concerts, but it always comes off perfectly because of the chemistry the band has ...
and i'd die to see eric johnson live ... the amount of flawless improvisation that guy does every time he picks up a guitar pretty much blows me away
and ben folds with a full orchestra behind him *drools*

i've probably seen close to a thousand live bands over the years, large and small, and BLUE OCTOBER is probably the best live show you can go to these days. the show is more like a couple of hours of "free" therapy than it is a concert - LOL.
Pearl Jam and U2 are also really great live bands!!

Metallica - they play amazing music, and they get the crowd involved in whatever song they're doing at the moment. They are phenomenal!
Counting Crows - they change the tempos, improv words, and combine songs often. It doesn't matter if you've seen them once or several different times - each show is unique!

Foo Fighters. Man, you can put just Dave Grohl on a stage with just a guitar and the concert sells out. Legend!
