When you look at the population as a whole, there are fewer Catholic priests who are pedphiles than the general population.
the statistic you quote doesn't surprise me.
I think it is because good priests- and the overwhelming majority are GOOD proests- work hard to master themselves and their desires. They are human- they naturally have sexual urges- but they pray and work at keeping the desire to act on those urges surpressed.
Protestan ministers have no need to do that, because many are married. So the devil can REALLY have fun with that, stretch the limits of decency and decorum. I have heard more bizzare things about protestant ministers than I have about priests.

I gotta look up those numbers but for now I'll say, "Wow." By those stats, Protestant pedophilia outnumbers the Catholics more than 2 to 1.
My other comment is that I totally understand why you'd bring this up: frankly, we're tired of everyone calling our priests child-molesters. Myself, I'm sick of it. However, we cannot allow a worse division than there already is between Protestants and Catholics. Christ instituted one Faith, one Church, and He expected it to be unified. We must continually pray for one another and LOVE one another, because we are all brothers and sisters in Christ. Those crimes should not be happening in the first place, Catholic or Protestant or not.
