I'm an American, but my heritage is from Mexico. I believe in God and am conservative. So many multi-cultural people I speak to agree with what I do, yet most claim to be a democrat. (I'm sorry, but a conservative democrat is an oxymoron in my book!)
But they're so afraid to show that they're conservative! Just say it! I do and I couldn't care less what anyone thinks! I vote my conscience!! According to the treatment of Miguel Estrada by the democratic party, people like me are a serious threat.
So forget the initial question, just do us all a big favor and quit being so scared!!!! Who gives a rats behind if someone doesn't like it!
Stand your ground and be proud that you live in a country where IT'S OKAY TO SAY AND THINK WHAT YOU WANT!!!! And if someone doesn't like it, to hell with them!!
Land of the free and home of the brave!!!

My hat is off to you, my friend! Tell it like it is, and political fallout be damned!
I worked with a black guy who was more conservative than I am (and that's pretty conserative), and he was very vocal about his beliefs. I saw a ahem "black-er" employee question him about how he could be both black and a Republican. Darryl stood up straight and explained that his great grandparents had been born slaves. He was determined to never let something like that happen to him, and so he worked hard and got an education. He explained that he was a minister, and so he sees the best and the worst of black society. Lastly, he explained that one party just assumes you need a handout because you're black, and the other eants to treat you as an equal, warts and all.
In my mind, he represents what young African Americans should be modeling themselves after, not Snoop Dog.

They're afraid because liberals make them out to be the scum of the earth in order to win more votes. In the end, the conservatives will be the only ones standing because liberals won't know how to stand up for themselves and probably die in a huge attack on America from Iraq.

Because of the joys of Pop-Culture, which has Americans following it like a religion. If its hip to bash Bush, then it trickles down to the citizens that follow pop culture. Its a sad thing when minorities are faced with self hatred along political lines. Just look at Alan Keys, and all of the bashing he had to deal with, during his run for the White House....

Good point. Over 50% of Hispanics want illegal aliens deported ( Summer 2006 poll).
I know some very respectable Mexican-Americans who volunteer to help Republicans.

Amen. My wife is of Mexican and Spanish heritage and is 3rd Generation American. Like you, she does not fit the media stereotype of a Latina and is very conservative.
I don't think it's an 'admission' much less the media having to report their own stereotype is incorrect.

Fear my good friend. The Democrats have preached hate and fear for so long that if you think like a Rich White guy your not a free thinker, when you are by challenging the supposed authority.

This "minority" is an independent with both conservative and liberal views. Too support today's party of bigotry would be self defeating. The repubs ended slavery, and fought for civil rights. Then the neo-con "Dixie-crats" took over the party.
When I listen to the "minorities" who are republicans, their voices sound different for some reason (higher pitched/nasally), such as Allan Keys. I guess the pods have a harder time assimilating "minorities".

There are a lot of conservative Democrats. Just because you believe in God does not mean you have to be conservative. With some of the actions of conservatives, I would question how many of them actually believe in God.

Because the democrats have been able to keep them in line with welfare and handouts. Hopefully they will realize its just another form of slavery.
